After an intense six week, accelerated course in Greece studying studio Interior Design 3, Painting, and Greek History i have arrived back in the US of A and am able to reflect on the trip. To look at the work that i have brought back... all of my sketches, paintings, photos, and observations in general... it just doesn't even come close to the experience i felt there. In the next couple of weeks i hope to post some things from my sketch book. Some still in progress, some pictures... bits and pieces (as Victor Hugos says about the Greek Wall) that come together to form a structure... each ones shape determining the next.

This could possibly look like a very vulgar drawing... but actually... this is a study of a wall fresco of the House of Ladies. Kinda a crazy story... but i actually meet the doc. that delivered me while in this museum... while drawing... a lady came up to me and wanted to know where our group was from... and i told her i was actually from a small town Champaign, IL... turns out their group was an Alumi group from the U of I. And her brother still lived in Champaign... so i told him who i was and what do you know... he knew my mom and me very well! He delivered me! Small world!
But back to the House of the Ladies... really amazing. I love the fluid simple lines that create their frescos. So many styles take after these.

This is a water color study done in Fira, Santorini. Look it up, it is amazing! Ill try to post some pictures taken there. It is basically an island that is like a cliff, with a city on the very top of it. Some friends and i hiked the volcano there. Truly breathtaking. I will post pictures... i have to. Anyway, this study was done while having an deep conversation with one of my friends there. Conversation took over the study i think but ill always look at this study and think of her. I have an emotional attachment to it.

Is everyone familiar with the Lions Gate... yup this is it! In Mycenae we visited this and the tomb of Agamemnon. This sketch of the Lions Gate is from the back side.

Morgan is 35 years old and specializes in computer security and is contracted with several major corporations in the city. He is most often out on sight but needs a large home office with multiple computers to test new security software. Often times business follows him home either to his office or to entertain his friends and clients. While entertaining he likes to have ample seating space, room for food and drinks, and use his beautiful view of the city to its best advantage. When at home he spends time reading books by his favorite author (Paulo Coelho) and visiting with friends. His relaxed neat style could be associated with his fascination with the nineteen twenties. His favorite actor is John Lennon and can often be found relaxing watching the classics. He is very clean and enjoys an open space. Privacy is not an issue but always considered. He can be described as clean but slightly off, this in his wardrobe and personal style all around. Clad in his grandfather's peat coat, he enjoys making something new out of something old. He enjoys the simple things in life and prides himself on being down to earth. He enjoys vintage posters and classy Vargas’s calendar girls. With an appreciation for other cultures he can be caught searching for last minute flights to London, his favorite vacation spot.

This is my Interior Design 1 3D model. This is a space created for "Morgan" my single male entrepeneur. He is a computer programer in his 30s, has clients over often and needed a space to entertain guests while also having a private office. This is my evolving solution. I should just build models at this rate.

When I attended the Art Institute of Phoenix one of our assignments in my 3D Design class was to design and construct a floor plan using a variety of materials. These including foam core, illustration board, bristle board, strings, string, balsam wood, and glue. Using these materials I created 3D scaled representation of my floor plan.

Corporate Identity Project. My company "DLANEE" is an interior design firm... naturally. These are my renderings for my space that show my choice of color concept. My target audience was high-end residential and small corporate.

This is one of my projects I designed and created in my Lighting Class. Our objective was to choose an architect (I choose Steven Holl) and design a light fixture inspired by their design. I chose to mimic his clean lines and geometric shapes. My outcome is shown here with a black backdrop. It is created out of a melted and fused ceiling tile for the shade, plumbing tube, and has a black absolute granite base.
